CHANCE TO PUT YOUR NAME ABOVE CITY BAR FOR JUST ONE DAY

-

A BAR which has attracted attention for its signage is now offering customers the chance to name the pub for 24 hours.

Since it first opened on Uplands Crescent in Swansea, Noah’s Yard has pulled in punters by changing its name. The letters are magnetic and are changed every 24 hours.

Now, for £15, the public can decide what the front of the cafe and bar says for a day. If no customer books the sign new words are chosen by staff. Recently the staff took aim at the new US President Donald Trump. For 24 hours the sign read: “Trump= A Fart”.

The idea was born following an infamous episode in 2013 which made national headlines after an angry woman, who believed her husband was having an affair, convinced staff to change the words of the sign to: “Paul...I am divorcing you.”

The fuming wife added to the sign: “BTW, I am keeping the dog.”

The unnamed woman, a regular at Noah’s Yard, said at the time: “I was angry and upset so wanted a sign to go up for everyone to see.

“I felt angry and wanted him to pay. We have been together for years and I am absolutely devastated.

“I wanted to name and shame him.”

Since then the bar has gone through a range of different names, from people proposing marriage, cheering then-Swansea manager Garry Monk and showing solidarity with France after terrorist attacks.
