AGIANT lamb has been born that’s twice the size of an average newborn. The 22lb ram born on Anglesey on Thursday has been named Klopp’s King in honour of the larger-than-life Liverpool FC manager.

Beef and sheep farmer Henry Tudor said the lamb was the biggest he had ever seen and he needed “plenty of brute strength” to pull him from his mother.

As son Ioan, 11, is a huge Liverpool FC fan, the outsized arrival has been named in tribute to the club’s German manager Jurgen Klopp.

Mr Tudor was on overnight duty in the lambing shed at Plas Bodewryd, Rhosgoch, when he delivered the lamb at 1.30am.

“As soon as I felt the feet, I knew it was a big lamb,” he said.

“It was in the right position but it was a bit of a job to pull it out. But the lamb was on its feet straight away and is perfectly healthy.”

Mr Tudor, married to Saman- tha, runs 1,100 ewes in partnership with brother Stephen.

The single ram lamb was born to a Suffolk cross ewe and was sired by a Beltex x Charolais ram.

Eldest daughter Erin, 15, snapped some photos of Klopp’s King, who was returned to the breeding flock and will be turned out to grass tomorrow.

While it is a big lamb, one born last March in Brecon has the edgeg in terms of size, weighingg g 24.3lb when it arrived on Moth- er’s Day.

Named “XXXL”, the pedigree e Texel ram lamb is believed to bee the world’s heaviest for a natural l birth, though the weight was nott independently verified.

Mr Tudor added: “Klopp’s s King is the biggest lamb I havee ever delivered by a country milee – but I’m not expecting a visitt from the Guinness World Re- cords.”
