Radio’s Rhod’s panic over match tickets left in London

-

COMEDIAN Rhod Gilbert, pictured, was terrified he wouldn’t make the Wales v England clash after travelling down to Cardiff for the big game – and leaving his tickets at home.

The BBC Radio Wales host and rugby fan admitted he was in a spin during his Saturday morning chat show yesterday when he realised he may not be able to attend the sell-out match at the Principality Stadium.

Rhod, talking with his radio cohost Chris Corcoran, said: “My head is in a spin and my feet won’t touch the floor and though I’m not normally one to quote Kelly Marie, I am actually in a bit of a spin.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I am supposed to be going to the game at wherever it’s called these days but my tickets are on the fridge at home in London.

“Yes! Me! Oh man, I’m fed up with this life of mine. I’m always on the road, I’m on the radio, my wife is in London and my tickets are in London.”

Rhod explained that he had bought four tickets “and I gave two tickets to my friend Tim Key, from Inside Number 9, as his mum and dad wanted to go, and mine are in London.

“I’m trying to get hold of his mum to ask ‘What ticket numbers are yours?’ so then I can contact the Welsh Rugby Union.” His wife Sian was out, too. Eventually, after much panic, he sorted it out thanks to Chris, who rang his friend in the WRU ticket office, who saved the day.
