BEDDAU moved to within a point of second spot in the National Championsh­ip after recording a 30-16 bonuspoint home win over Skewen. Dave Francis’ brace led the way with Matthew Howells and Jordan Goodwin also on the scoresheet while Hywel Chatham booted two conversion­s and two penalties.

Kevin James replied for Skewen, converted by Anthony Buselli who also booted three penalties.

The win takes Beddau on to 62 points, one behind second-placed Tata Steel but have played two games more.

The only other game in the Championsh­ip to beat the weather was at the Memorial Ground where Glamorgan Wanderers racked up seven tries in a resounding 45-3 victory over Glynneath to pull away from the bottom two.

Jake Conway and James Loxton were both at the double in what was a welcome win for the Wanderers with Matt Arnold, Cameron Gibbon and Ollie Smith also on the scoresheet with Luke Fish converting five of them.

Dylan Francis booted a penalty in consolatio­n for Glynneath.

The games at Cardiff Met, Narberth and Newcastle Emlyn were all postponed.

In One West, leaders Kidwelly slipped to their third reverse of the season as they were beaten 20-17 at home by Gorseinon.

Josh John, Luke Cross and a penalty try were the visitors’ scorers with Jack Gronow booting the other points for Gorseinon who are now fourth in the division.

Alex Davies got the Kidwelly try with Gareth Rees booting four penalties as they bagged a losing bonus point which edged them seven points clear of nearest challenger­s Llanelli Wanderers – who had their scheduled clash at Waunarlwyd­d called off.

There was also a slip up by the leaders of One West Central Aberavon Quins who were held 15-15 at home by Seven Sisters.

Marc Sheppard, who also kicked a penalty and a conversion, and Nathan Flynn got the Quins tries while all of Seven Sisters’ points came from the boot of Jack O’Reilly.

That slip up by the Quins allowed Bonymaen to pull level on 52 points – with a game in hand – after they won 20-6 at home against bottom side Cwmllynfel­l.

Kyle Salter, Sam Jones and Nick Clancy got the Bonymaen tries with Richard Cunliffe adding five points with the boot.

Troy Cusack kicked two penalties for Cwmllynfel­l.

Elsewhere Rhydyfelin won the big top of the table clash in One East against Nelson 34-12 to go eight points clear.

Sam Dudley, Luke Rees, Ross Lucas and Kevin Briggs got the tries with Dai Gratton booting their other points.

Third-placed Penallta lost ground on the leaders after going down 2120 at Brynmawr.

James Selway and Adam Lane scored the home tries with Dan But- ler kicking a conversion and three penalties.

Ystrad Rhondda blew the title race wide open in One East Central as they won 17-11 at Treorchy – and sent the leaders crashing to their first defeat of the campaign.

Ryan Howells got the Ystrad try with Rhys Truelove booting four penalties to seal the win.

Jacob Lloyd got the Treorchy try while Jordan Lloyd booted two penalties.

The win moves Ystrad 10 points behind Treorchy with a game in hand.

In One North leaders Nant Conwy were beaten 16-15 at Caernarfon and that defeat allowed Pwllheli – who won 33-3 at home against Bro Ffestiniog – to close the gap to three points with a game in hand.
