CHAMPIONS The New Saints bounced back from a midweek defeat to GAP Connah’s Quay to beat Carmarthen Town 2-0 at Park Hall.

Saints’ made the best possible start, taking the lead inside the opening two minutes as Ryan Brobbel fired them in front.

Adrian Cieslewicz and Greg Draper both went close to doubling the home side’s advantage before the half-hour mark, but it was Cieslewicz who did score next after 33 minutes to put Craig Harrison’s side 2-0 up.

It finished 1-1 in the clash at the Deeside Stadium between GAP Connah’s Quay and Bangor City.

Les Davies scored against his former club on 16 minutes to put the Nomads ahead but Bangor continued to look a threat to the home side.

Anthony Miley saw red for the visitors midway through the second half to make Bangor’s task of getting back into the game that much harder, but that mattered little to substitute Rodrigo Branco who drew Bangor level in the last few minutes of the game.

Bala Town reclaimed second spot following a 3-2 victory at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
