THE CITY WE CALL TO GIANTS’ CLASH

-

IVAN FORCADA POVEDA, 34, FROM ALICANTE

Well, to be honest it is very exciting to have them here playing in Cardiff.

I’ve lived in Madrid for some years and been to Santiago Bernabeu several times and it is a great sensation.

It is a great success being able to fight in the final to be the first team to retain the Champions League.

I suppose Gareth Bale must feel very enthusiastic about playing here.

Unfortunately, his physical state is far from the best and I hope for his sake and for the team’s that he won’t force it in order to play as he did against Barcelona. We’ll see.

JOE PHILLIPS, 24, FROM SWANSEA

I was fortunate enough to get two tickets for the final, I was in the ballot. I got them when we were in the last 16 and I was hoping we would make it to the final and being able to get through has made it even more fun. I am a little bit nervy but it will be an amazing experience. To have the Champions League final in Cardiff with Real Madrid in the final is amazing and there’s a great buzz in the city about the final. I think it’s amazing that Bale could be playing in front of his home city. He’s out injured at the moment but we have our fingers crossed that he will be available.

If Gareth Bale is able to get on the field he will have the warmth of the crowd behind him.

For him personally he will be fighting more than ever to get back.

In Wales there is nothing we want to see more than that.

I have an uncle in Madrid and have been a fan of the club since I was six years old.

I have been to many games at the Bernabeu.

ANTONIO SABUCO MARTINEZ, 18, FROM ALICANTE

I am so emotional that Real Madrid will be playing in the Champions League final in Cardiff. It’s going to be truly amazing.

It’s an amazing opportunity which I will never have again so I will try to get to see them and get photos and do all I can.

I have supported them all my life and all my family supports them, it’s something in the blood.

I am sure Bale will play an amazing match and he can make teams score the goals to victory so he will be important to that match.

I am volunteering at the final and will be helping Spanish people from Madrid who cannot speak English.

JUVENTUS FANS DARIO PAMPILLONIA, 28, FROM SICILY

As you can imagine, it’s like a dream come true.

I’m in a dream right now and it’s really important for us to be part of that final.

I feel really happy because I’ve always dreamed to see a Champions League final and now my dream has come true and they are coming to my city where I have lived for five years. It’s an amazing, an important thing, for us and we have got to win to celebrate with our old friends.

There’s a big Italian group around so we are hoping for the best.

SALVATORE VARA, 31, FROM REGGIO CALABRIA

I feel really great about it. I have lived in Cardiff for 11 years and it will be our second final in the last five years and I think we are in with a good chance because we are really strong.

I cannot wait, because there will be a lot of Italian supporters and there will be a lovely atmosphere and ambience so we’re really happy for that.

It’s a dream to see Juventus in Cardiff because I have been watching Juventus since I was five.

I hope to go to watch the match but it’s hard to get tickets, but I am really happy about it.
