SIMON HOLLIDAY was the match winner for Haverfordw­est as they beat visitors Kilgetty by seven wickets in the Pembrokesh­ire league yesterday.

Holliday took 2-1 and Johnny White 3-20 as Kilgetty were skittled out for just 41, Ian Poole’s 15 not out their top score.

Holliday then hit an unbeaten 30 as Haverfordw­est strolled to 45-3 to claim a comprehens­ive victory.

Carew beat visitors Neyland by six wickets after Neyland batted first and made 144-9, Patrick Bellerby top scoring with 29, while Ashley Sutton made 28. Rhys Davies took 3-41. A fine 50 from Rhys Davies and 44 from Tim Hicks then steered Carew to 145-4 and a comfortabl­e victory.

Whitland travelled to Cresselly and came away victorious by 78 runs. They were first to occupy the crease and made a total of 258-5, Will Spreadbury making a superb 85 and Wayne Howells 55, with Simon Cole taking 2-51.

Cresselly were then bowled out for 180, Adam Chandler making 52, with Matthew Davies picking up 4-29 and Wayne Howells 3-44.

St Ishmaels had to settle for a winning draw at home to Pem- broke after batting fist and posting 235-5. Phil Cockburn made an undefeated 53, Peter Bradshaw 52 and Dan Howells 46.

Pembroke were 188-7 at the close, Andrew Hay unbeaten on 54 with Jack Harries adding 52. Danny Flynn took 3-59.

Lawrenny beat Johnston by three wickets. Johnston made a total of 233-7, Dan Sutton hitting a magnificen­t 102 and Lee Summons 89. Ian Jenkins took 4-24 and Jamie Lewis 3-51. Lawrenny made 234-7, Ian Jenkins hitting the winning run off the last ball with Brad Mcdermott making 57, Phil Cole 54 not out and Harry Thomas 50. Lee Summons took 6-38.
