Airport reveals items passengers have tried to take on board

CARDIFF Airport has released a list of the most commonly confiscated items – as well as a few of the more unusual ones. The most common item are the everyday ones you or a forgetful loved one has forgot to put in your hold luggage.

All of these are put in a bin and you get the treat of buying them all over again in duty free. They are: Cosmetics (liquids not packed in a plastic see-through bag, eg mascara, lip gloss) Face cream Sun tan lotion Bottles of water Perfume Sharp objects – eg Swiss army knives

Home comforts – Marmite (over 100ml)

But there are those people who play it a bit more fast and loose with their carry on.

The following items have all been eg jars of confiscated at Cardiff Airport after someone tried to take them on a flight:

A 10lb frozen turkey – presumably to show this flightless bird what it was missing.

A palm tree in a sand bag – because they couldn’t wait till they saw one on the beach?

A briefcase full of bricks – a spot of DIY?

Life-jackets – they must have had very little faith in the pilot.

A goldfish – couldn’t get a pet sitter.

A chainsaw – in case the palm tree got too big?

Two unpacked armchairs – maybe they don’t like aeroplane seats.
