HAVERFORDW­EST joined Llanelli at the top of the Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh League when they romped to a 3-0 victory over Briton Ferry Llansawel at Old Road.

Steffan Williams gave the Bluebirds a first-half lead and Danny Williams and Declan Carroll netted after the break to complete the success.

Llanelli remain at the head of the table on goal difference despite being held to a 2-2 draw by Port Talbot at Stebonheat­h Park.

Prolific striker Lee Trundle scored both the Llanelli goals-one just before half-time and the other seven minutes into the second period.

Cortez Belle converted a first-half penalty and Rhys Owen was also on target.

Elsehwere inconsiste­nt Cambrain and Clydach overcame Ton Pentre 5-1 in a Rhondda derby.

Penybont moved up to fifth place with a hard-earned 2-1 win over Caerau Ely at the Kymco stadium. Marcus Griffiths and Joe Hopkins netting for the hosts,the winner coming in injury time.

Tre Merrett bagged a brace as Undy Athletic beat Monmouth Town 4-2.

In the second division Pontypridd Town won 2-1 at Risca United thanks to goals by Danny Hooper fronm the penalty spot and Luke Gullick.

A Garin Withers goal was sufficient to give Caldicot a 1-0 triumph at Dinas Powis on a day when the weather forced the postponeme­nt of well over half the scheduled fixtures.

Meanwhile in one of the tightest games in the third round of the FA Trophy Carmarthen Stars pipped Sully Sports in a penalty shoot-out after the teams were level 2-2 after 90 minutes and extra time.
