Ghost hunters plan spooky night to aid children

-

A GROUP of Welsh ghostbusters have come up with a unique way to raise funds for Children In Need – by locking themselves in one of the most haunted buildings in Wales and streaming it live on the internet.

Members of Ebbw Vale Paranormal Society have dreamt up the special event for Children In Need Day on Friday when they return to the scene of one of their most successful investigations at the workmen’s hall in Ebbw Vale.

When they first visited the hall, which was built in 1907 and has been used as a theatre, cinema and bingo hall in recent years, but is now used as a spiritualist church, not only did they capture what appears to be two ghosts but also the spirit of a dog – as well as several ghostly orbs.

“This Friday we are going to be completing a 12-hour lock-in, back where we had our first investigation in the workmen’s hall, and we will be using the event to raise money for Children In Need, which will be airing that night,” said Matt Marshman, chief technical officer of the society.

“We think that this is quite a unique way to raise money for Children In Need, as we will eat, sleep and investigate for a solid 12 hours in a supposedly active building – and based on what we encountered the last time we visited, it’s sure to be an interesting evening.”
