Wales On Sunday

How they rated

- BY DOMINIC BOOTH

NEIL ETHERIDGE

Endured a couple of hairy moments with his handling in the first half and was bailed out by Bamba and Manga. Got the clean sheet again though, which proved key.

LEE PELTIER

We’re not used to seeing the hard-tackling right-back so far up the field, but he looked to overlap Mendez-Laing whenever he could and even offered the odd impudent piece of skill.

BRUNO MANGA

Nouha Dicko threatened to unsettle Manga with his pace but the big man coped well, Bamba’s presence proving a big help.

JOE BENNETT

Dovetailed effectively with Hoilett in both directions and had the ball in the net on 39 minutes, only to be ruled offside.

LOIC DAMOUR

Dragged out of position by Hull’s fluid midfield but looked to provide quality delivery into the box. Did better after the break.

JOE RALLS

Warnock calls his No.8 a ‘Ralls Royce’ and this was another vintage performance in midfield. Mopped up in front of the back four before playing the simple pass in a very tidy display.

NATHANIEL MENDEZ-LAING

Looked to run Hull’s makeshift back-line ragged at every opportunity, but didn’t quite get the openings to etch his name onto the scoresheet.

LEE TOMLIN

Unplayable at times, frustrating at others. Consistently made things happen though squandered a few decent shots from the edge of the box. Tomlin’s lovely delivery led to Bamba’s opening goal and he got a deserved standing ovation when replaced by Halford.

JUNIOR HOILETT

Twisted the blood of Fiyako Tomori, the Hull right-back, and struck up a relationship with Tomlin that you feel rivals any other attacking duo in the division. His work rate tracking back was phenomenal.

ANTHONY PILKINGTON

Playing his first league minutes of the season and looked off the pace early doors. Made a telling contribution, however, when his flicked header fell to Bamba for the opener. Replaced by Bogle.
