STOKE City sacked manager Mark Hughes yesterday after they lost to Coventry in the biggest FA Cup upset of the day.

“Stoke City can confirm that the contract of manager Mark Hughes has been terminated with immediate effect,” the club said in a statement on their official Twitter feed after the defeat at the Ricoh Arena.

Defenders Jordan Willis and Jack Grimmer got the goals for League Two Coventry, with a Charlie Adam penalty the best that Stoke could muster.
