How they rated

-

ETHERIDGE

Produced some good saves to keep his side in it, including a marvellous one-on-one to stop to deny Jordan Rhodes. Still a few question marks over his distribution, but did what he needed to do with few problems.

RICHARDS

Far more comfortable on the ball tonight than at Mansfield. Helped add depth to Cardiff’s attacking threat down the wings made a couple of decent defensive contributions.

BENNETT

Likewise. Benefitted from the freedom of the three-man defence and created several great opportunities to find the net.

MANGA

Nearly cost his side a goal on several occasions where he appeared to lose concentration. Had a bit of a row with Bamba early on and the two never really clicked here.

MORRISON

Was typically solid. Arguably the only defender to not really make a mistake all game. Not his best performance, but still assured.

BAMBA

Found life very difficult against Lucas Joao, who got the better of him on several occasions. A sloppy performance that was nowhere near his usually high standards.

GRUJIC

Sat very deep initially, but we did see some flashes of what he can do, playing some neat passes and tidy touches in the middle of the park. This lad clearly isn’t afraid of a tackle, but he’s certainly not the sort of route one smash and crash player the critics would stereotypically associate with a Warnock recruit. Clearly has some strong technical ability. A strong debut.

HOILETT

Produced some good moments of genuine quality on the wing, but an inability to find a quality final ball meant, by his standards, he enjoyed a pretty quiet game.

WILDSCHUT

Enjoyed a decent first half ever in a Cardiff shirt, producing some lovely moments of genuine skill. However, barring one second-half effort he appeared to go off the boil after the break. Nevertheless he could well prove to be a good acquisition.

ZOHORE

Showed great strength to hold up the ball when his team needed it most. Again looked close to rediscovering his best form, but found goalscoring opportunities hard to come by due to constantly being pulled out wide. Linked up very well with Ralls.
