Murdered mum’s daughter tells of anguish

US PRESIDENT Donald Trump has said he is not aware of any invitation for him to attend Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle.

In a wide-ranging interview with Piers Morgan, Mr Trump replied “not that I know of” when asked if he was given an invite.

Harry’s nuptials with the American actress have captured the imagination of her compatriots and will be seen to strengthen the bond between the UK and the US.

But Markle has been a vocal critic of former reality star Mr Trump, backing his rival Hillary Clinton and suggesting before the 2016 election she would leave the US if he won.

Asked if he would like to go to the royal wedding in May at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel, Mr Trump simply said: “I want them to be happy. I really want them to be happy.

“They look like a lovely couple.”

When Morgan pointed out she had labelled the billionaire “divisive” and a “misogynist”, he said: “Well, I still hope they’re happy.”

Morgan also pressed the president on his social media habit, confirming he often tweets himself but will delegate if he is busy.

He said: “Well, perhaps sometimes in bed, and perhaps sometimes at breakfast, or lunch, or whatever.

“But generally speaking, during the early morning or during the evening, I can do that.

“But if I’m very busy during the day ... and I’ll sometimes just dictate out something really quickly, and I’ll give it to one of my people to put it on.”

The president also offered hope that the US could come back in from the cold after opting out of the Paris Accord on climate change, a decision that drew scorn from the international community and “disappointment” from Prime Minister Theresa May.

He said: “The Paris Accord, for us, would have been a disaster. I’m completely out of it.

“First of all, it was a terrible deal for the United States.

“Would I go back in? Yeah, I’d go back in. I like, as you know, I like Emmanuel (Macron, French president). I would love to, but it’s got to be a good deal for the United States.”

President Trump – The Piers Morgan Interview airs tonight on ITV at 10pm.

THE daughter of a mum who was brutally murdered says she is terrified about the prospect of one of the murderers soon being released on parole. Shirley Oliver was beaten and strangled to death by Stuart and Christopher Jones in 2005, who then dumped her body in a Cardiff alley.

She was killed after accepting a lift home from a nightclub with the brothers. Sitting in the front seat, Stuart, from Roath, attacked her from behind.

Cardiff Crown Court heard Shirley was removed from the vehicle by Christopher and dropped on the floor. He then stamped on her. She was then strangled, beaten and left for dead.

Her daughter, Stephanie Davis, now 34, said she never had a chance to say goodbye.

In an emotional post online, she recalled how the incident happened, and how it has affected her life.

She wrote: “Being younger, I met a lad called Matthew Jones, we dated, moved in together to a flat, I got pregnant with my amazing daughter and soon after we had my first house. Life seemed great.”

But the relationship did not run smoothly and she soon found herself fleeing the home.

“Matthew’s brother, Stuart Jones, took me to my mother’s. My mum made him tea and they chatted. This was not the first time, either – his younger brother Christopher had been to my mum’s a fair few times and even had food she cooked.

“One day I managed to escape and drove straight to my mum’s, where she protected me and my beautiful girl. I didn’t go back after that, he was asked to move out. Months later I slowly moved back in and tried to rebuild my life.

“Many years passed until the call that has changed our lives forever happened. I knew it was bad, I just never imagined that – my mum was gone and I couldn’t understand how any one could hurt her. She was the most kind, loving person you could ever meet.

“At first we were led to believe it was her boyfriend, as he was in such shock he could not speak for days.

“But an off-duty community officer had spent her own time and many hours trailing CCTV footage and found my mum leaving a club arm-in-arm laughing and giggling with two lads walking towards their car. These boys were in fact Stuart and Christopher Jones.

“They were not strangers, she knew them and trusted them like family. They were giving her a lift as she had lost her partner and was going home – home where she never made it to.

“She was left behind her brother’s house in a gutter, streets away from her own house. She wouldn’t harm a fly.

“To this day we don’t know why they did what they did and maybe we never will, but what they did – I need everyone to know – this was beyond
