Wilsons Auctions Newport gears up for busy month of sales

-

WILSONS Auctions Newport is gearing up for a busy February, having achieved a successful start to the new year across its auctions.

Since Wilsons Auctions took over the site late last year its weekly car auctions have seen fantastic sales through the continued support of Newport’s loyal customers and existing vendors including Newtown Motors, Southern Vauxhall, Motorplus Supermarket and Secure Trust Bank.

Under the new management of Wilsons Auctions, a significant amount of investment will be made in the branch, bringing fresh car stock for bidders from Eastern Western Motor Group, Moneyway and local authority vehicles.

Talking of Newport’s start to the year, Wilsons Auctions general manager Nigel Binks said: “We are delighted with the very encouraging start to the year with fantastic sales across our weekly car auctions. We would like to thank the loyal customers and vendors for their continued support throughout our transition of Newport and as we progress. Following on from the success of our January auctions we expect to see more diverse sales in the coming months as we prepare to welcome new vendors which we hope generates a new customer base for the branch,” he added.

The weekly car auctions at Wilsons Auctions Newport take place every Monday and Wednesday at 6pm and on Fridays at 11.30am.

Wilsons Auctions holds more than 1,000 auctions annually across its branches, auctioning everything from cars and vans, plant and machinery and property to general goods, as well as the more luxurious items including planes, yachts, gold bars, supercars, designer goods and prestigious watches.

Wilsons Auctions Newport expanded its offering last month with a plant and machinery and unreserved government auction. These auctions not only helped to put Wilsons Auctions Newport on the map but also generated a brand new audience.

In addition, the auction company’s Newport branch will be hosting its very first dedicated online timed auction from noon on Tuesday, February 13. The online timed auction of more than 285 items of Hyundai gardening equipment will run over three full days. To view lots or register, go to Wilsons Auctions website.

Nigel continued: “To add to the excitement of January, Newport expanded its offering with two brand new auctions; Plant and machinery and the unreserved government auction. Both proved extremely successful and we look forward to rolling out these types of auctions on a more regular basis as well as the online auctions which have proven successful for our other branches.”

Wilsons Auctions is a family-owned business, formed in 1936 in Northern Ireland. It has grown to become the largest independent auction company in the British Isles with sites in Northern Ireland, Wales, Republic of Ireland, England and Scotland.

The company’s acquisition of Newport Auctions will help to expand Wilsons Auctions presence across Wales, along with its Queensferry branch in the north, and with future growth plans will see the company invest further into the local area and create further job opportunities.

Upcoming auctions at Wilsons Auctions Newport, in addition to its weekly car auctions, includes an unreserved disposal auction on February 16, unreserved government auction on March 14 and a plant, machinery and commercial auction on March 22.
