Wales On Sunday

Refuses to refund no-shows

-

Helen Rees said: “There are still no buses operating in Cardiff due to the treacherous road conditions, how are we expected to get to the WMC?”

Louise Jones bought tickets for her 70-something in-laws.

“They are currently snowed in as we all live in the Valleys, we had more snow last night. Gwent Police have advised not to travel unless in an emergency and we currently have a yellow weather warning in place.

“There is no way they can make it to you today. I am hoping that given the extreme weather circumstances, as a gesture of goodwill we can have a refund or at the very least book a different show in the future.”

But the WMC told her: “We are sorry but you can only get a refund or exchange if the show is cancelled. Best wishes.”

After Wales on Sunday contacted it the WMC shifted position.

A spokeswoman said yesterday: “We appreciate that conditions are still poor in some areas, making it difficult for people to travel.

“However, we believe that many customers are still able to attend the performances today. As this is the final day of Sunset Boulevard, we and the producers of the show wanted to go ahead because it will be many people’s final opportunity to see it during its run at Wales Millennium Centre.

“We understand that not all of our patrons will be able to attend today and have asked that they contact us next week to discuss options regarding unused tickets.”
