REMEMBER JACK

-

home in Abergavenny to his place of work at the Bush Inn where the pub’s owners, husband and wife Andy Hooker, 49, and Elizabeth Silva, 47, will offer up a barbecue.

Elizabeth said: “Prior to working at the Bush Inn Jack had tried a number of careers in the military and finance but he was still searching for the dream – the career that would fulfil him.

“Having never previously worked in a professional catering capacity, as soon as he stepped foot inside the kitchen he knew he had found his calling.

“His passion to learn and ability to listen and observe saw him racing towards his ultimate goal – to open his own restaurant with his wife, Luisa, somewhere here in Wales close to his treasured family.

“Jack was one of a kind. So talented, hard-working, passionate, creative and constantly coming up with new ideas.

“It didn’t take him very long to be in a position to run the kitchen and lead the team.

“But his greatest skill was his ability to encourage and help those around him to be the best they could be.

“He would know instinctively when someone needed help and would be by their side encouraging and helping them.

“His family, friends and colleagues are all heartbroken by the passing of Jack – but so humbled that we were able to be a part of this wonderful young man’s life.”

John is currently out in Fiji with the whole family, seeing the progress on the school.

He was full of gratitude for the support they have received. He said: “Andy and Liz in the Bush have been absolutely fantastic. They and everybody at the Bush have been great.”
