Wales On Sunday

How they rated

-

LUKASZ FABIANSKI

Barely tested for most of the afternoon, but showed his quality with two brilliant saves to deny Bolasie and Gueye, only to be thwarted by the covering Naughton. 7

KYLE NAUGHTON

A mixed bag. Used the ball intelligently for the most part, but also guilty of some poor decision making and crucially lost Bolasie for the goal, although he was unfortunate to see ball cannon in off him. 6

FEDERICO FERNANDEZ (CAPT)

Superb, set a captain’s example. Relished his battle with Cenk Tosun, was strong physically but kept his head amidst the malestrom.

8

ALFIE MAWSON

Had a couple of uncertain moments with the ball at his feet but was every bit as reliable and dependable as his form since the turn of the year.

7

MARTIN OLSSON

A quiet first half, but far more prominent after the break as part of a real to-and-fro tussle with Seamus Coleman. Final delivery occasionally lacking but a regular outlet.

7

LUCIANO NARSINGH

His first league start under Carvalhal and his pace caused Everton plenty of problems on the counter-attack, but was hindered by an injury he suffered in a challenge with Schneiderlin before being withdrawn.

6

KI SUNG-YUENG

Started with real purpose, and tried his luck - with varying degrees of accuracy - from distance. Faded a little in the second half and sacrificed so Abraham could be brought on. 6

ANDY KING

Another understated but highly-effective display from the loan signing. Good on the ball, strong in the tackle and intelligent in how he reads the game. 7

TOM CARROLL

Has had an awful lot of criticism this season, but he did not shy away from responsibility here. Mixed play up nicely and prominently involved in many of Swansea’s better moments. 7

ANDRE AYEW

Looked all the better for having his brother alongside him, always showed for the ball but how he will rue the first half chance he could steer beyond Pickford. Substitutes 7
