WILL ADAMS-JONES proved to be the match winner as his late try led Glamorgan Wanderers to High Motive Glamorgan County Silver Ball glory over Maesteg Quins.

One West Central champions Maesteg Quins looked set to claim the victory at Bridgend Ravens’ Morganston­e Brewery Field after they were awarded a penalty try a few minutes into injury time.

But with plenty of stoppages in the second half, the game continued and that allowed AdamsJones to crash over in the corner to seal a dramatic triumph.

Rob Lewis, Luke Fish and Rob Weston had all added earlier tries for the Wanderers with Fish adding an additional 17 points from the tee.

Lewis Tutt bagged a brace while Lewis Francis also touched down to ensure Quins stayed in the hunt.

Rhodri Davies also booted 10 points but they fell just short in the end.

Elsewhere, Dunvant bagged second place in One West with the 53-17 thrashing of basement boys Tycroes.

Sam Evans, Mark Robbins and Adam Williams-Parry were all at the double for the former National Championsh­ip outfit.

Ceri Davies, Mitchell Ford and Mark Loughlin also darted over while Sam Evans completed the rout with four conversion­s.

Matthew Lemon, Lee Evans and Elgan Griffiths responded for Tycroes, who saw Evans hit a conversion.

Leaders Felinfoel were beaten 26-8 by Tenby United, who managed to avoid the drop.

Mauritz Neumann, Barry Parsons, Alex Jenkins and Ben Pugh guided Tenby to safety with Lloyd Thomas landing three conversion­s.

Elsewhere in the league, Gareth Rees bagged all of Kidwelly’s points as they beat Crymych 16-11 while Aberystwyt­h were 26-19 victors over Llangennec­h.

In One West Central, Ystalyfera leapfrogge­d Bridgend Athletic into second place with an enjoyable 52-7 win at bottom club Seven Sisters.

Luc Caines was the main man as he crashed over three times. His side were also awarded two penalty tries.

Bowdy Davies, Martyn Davies and Jesse Patton also touched down with Gareth James and Steff Castle each booting two conversion­s.

Ieuan Eltham converted Jack Gray’s consolatio­n try for Sisters.

Maesteg were also in rampant form as they beat Resolven 49-33.

Penallta were another side who claimed second place in the table as they thrashed Abertiller­y 61-10 to finish as One East runners-up.

However, Bala fell just short of second place in One North despite beating last year’s champions Pwllheli 31-15.

Owain Aled bagged a brace with Owain Pugh, Dochan Roberts and Miallt Roberts also on the scoresheet. Rhydian Jones fired over three conversion­s as they finished one point behind Pwllheli.

John Pugh, Deio Brunelli and Daniel Glyn Williams replied for Pwllheli.

In other action, a Morgan Williams brace inspired Llanharan to a 14-10 victory over St Joseph’s while Heol-y-Cyw were just edged out by Dinas Powys 31-29.
