THE title race in Division One of the Thomas Carroll South East Wales Cricket League is far from over after leaders Miskin Manor were beaten by just one wicket at Croesyceil­iog.

Miskin, who are aiming to return to the South Wales Premier Cricket League at the first time of asking, were inserted after losing the toss and posted 211 before they were bowled out.

After a dismal start to the bowling, which saw them surrender three wickets for just seven runs, Daniel Hay (77) and Matthew Jones (66) found some rhythm for Miskin before Danny Evans helped bowl them out with a dazzling six-wicket THOMAS Carroll Pembrokesh­ire Cricket League Division One leaders Haverfordw­est recorded their tenth victory of the season with a 192-run victory away at Kilgetty, writes Andrew Deering.

The hosts won the toss and elected to field, with Haverfordw­est scoring a sizeable 247-7.

Simon Holliday top-scored for the visitors with three sixes and nineteen fours scored in a knock of 136. haul. In reply, a monstrous effort with the bat from Evans saw him hit 82 to inspire Croesy to victory.

Newbridge capitalise­d on Miskin’s slip-up to close the gap at the top to 12 points with a 27-run victory over Brecon.

Father-and-son duo James and Travis Morgan steered Newbridge to 279 all out after hitting 60 and 66 respective­ly. Chris Hartland was on hand to add 56 while Matt Williams took 3-42.

Brecon ran them close as they struck 252 before they were dismissed. Tom Watkins bagged 4-39 while brother Ryan Watkins took another three wickets.

In response, Kilgetty were bowled out for a measly 55 with Adam Jones taking 5-30 as the visitors strolled to victory.

Cresselly kept the pressure on Haverfordw­est at the top of the division with a six-wicket victory away at St Ishmaels.

The visitors won the toss and elected to field with the hosts making 192-8.

Sion Jenkins, Sam Harts and Tom Arthur each took a brace of

Chepstow remain third after a three-wicket victory over Division Two champions Abergavenn­y.

Aber won the toss and posted 162, largely thanks to the century from Gregory Fury (103).

Gareth Ansell led the charge in the chase with 76, which included 10 fours, as Chepstow knocked off the runs despite the best efforts of David Clarke (3-36) and Geraint Leach (2-33).

Elsewhere, Tondu (215) ended a four-game losing streak with a comfortabl­e 104-run win over Sudbrook (111) while Usk (146-1) bagged a first win in four by beating Pentyrch (142) by nine wickets. wickets for Cresselly as St Ishmaels struggled to cut loose.

Cresselly reached 198-4 from 32 overs in the chase with Daniel Sutton making 83 and Dan Cherry 32 to help record a vital victory.

Elsewhere, home side Whitland beat Burton by nine wickets with Jack Bowen playing a star role with a knock of 83. Lawrenny beat Llangwm by 103 runs at home and Neyland recorded a thumping ninewicket victory away to Johnston.
