ATEENAGE boy who was pulled from the sea after getting into difficulty has died. Tributes have been paid to the 16-year-old, named locally as Blake Ward, who died yesterday after he was rescued from the water at Tywyn, Gwynedd, on Tuesday.

He was flown to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool after being rescued by RNLI volunteers and members of the public, but it’s understood his life support was switched off yesterday morning.

The youngster, from the Dudley area of the West Midlands, has been remembered as a “loving, caring person who would do anything for anyone”.

Becky Ray, the mum of Blake’s girlfriend, said: “Blake, our beautiful, brave, kind-hearted, clever boy sadly passed away at 7.03 this morning.

“Even though he hadn’t been part of our family for long, his loss has left us beyond devastated and heartbroken.

“Sleep tight sweet angel you truly were too good for this world. We will never forget you.”

A family friend added: “He was a lovely, bright young lad, gone too soon. My heart goes out to all the family.”

Another said: “As you all know Blake was a loving and caring person and would do anything for anyone.”

Yesterday, the Holyhead Coastguard helicopter carried out a flypast over Tywyn in memory of the teenager, with people standing in silence on the seafront to remember him.

During Tuesday’s incident two other people were airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd after they were also pulled from the water at around 1.10pm.

Two helicopters, three lifeboats, two coastguard teams, paramedics and police were called to the seafront.

Following the incident, the RNLI spoke about how they rescued the group after they got into difficulty “on the rocks at Tywyn promenade”.

A lifeboat crew member jumped into the water and helped to pull Blake from the water, with the help of members of the public, before CPR was carried out and he was taken to hospital.
