COWBRIDGE kept up the pressure on Gorseinon at the top of the table with a 135-run victory away at Llandysul in South Wales Cricket Associatio­n Division One. With Gorseinon winning at home to Bronwydd, Cowbridge had to do the same in Ceredigion to keep the title race truly alive.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, posting a mammoth 312-3 with Ben Wright hitting 142 and Tom Merilaht scoring 112 in a fine innings for the visitors.

In response, Llandysul made 177-8 with Tatenda Chiradza taking 3-25 to ease Cowbridge to a comfortabl­e victory.

Mid-table Gowerton recorded a 14-run victory at home to basement boys Swansea Civil Service.

The visitors won the toss and elected to field with Gowerton going on to post 206-8 from their 50 overs.

Tomas Davies top-scored for the hosts with a knock of 60. In response, Swansea Civil Service registered 192 all out with Dylan Bebb top-scoring with a score 43.

Will Collinson and Marvel Biju both took three wickets for the hosts as they hung on for victory.

Maesteg Celtic recorded a 93-run victory at home to Dafen Welfare.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bat, posting 189-7 from their 50 overs. Gareth Hopkins top- scored for the hosts with a score of 41 as the hosts struggled to really get going.

In response, Dafen failed to reach triple figures, being bowled out for 96 from 30.5 overs. Medium-pacer Luke Wilson was the pick of the bowlers for Maesteg, taking 6-41 to ensure victory for the hosts.

In Division Two league leaders Llangennec­h recorded their eleventh victory of the season with a sixwicket victory at home to lowly Morriston.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, posting 167-9. In response, Llangennec­h reached 171-4 with Garry Williams hitting 43 as the hosts eased to victory.
