HAVERFORDW­EST moved to within a point of leaders Penybont in the Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh League when they demolished promoted Ammanford 4-0 at New Bridge Meadow.

Danny Williams led the way with a second-half brace while Ben Fawcett and the former Llanelli and Swansea star Lee Trundle were aqlso on the scoresheet.

Penybont have not been in action this weekend but face Haverford- west in a big top pf the table dual at Bryntirion next Saturday.

In a local derby Afan Lido fired home a last-minute penalty to salvage a point with Goytre united who had taken the lead only two minutes earlier.

Sam Johnson was on target for Goytre while Liam McCreesh netted from the penalty spot for Lido.

Also in the first division promoted Llantwit Major did well to defeat Taffs Well 2-1 with both their goals coming from Anthony Rawlins- Sam O’Sullivan got a consolatio­n 90th minute goal for the Wellmen.

Cwmamman United were on fire as they overcame Pontypridd Town 4-2. Ashley Curtis was on target for a brace with Chris Allen and Ryan Hurlow also netting.

Luke Gullick scored both Pon- typridd’s goals.

Swansea University continued their impressive form in the second division when they trounced Pontardawe Town 5-1.

Derek McCabe,Nick Hyden,Marley Bishop-Wisdon and Will Thomas netted for the students who were also credited with an ow goal.

The big winners in Division three were Ely Rangers who romped to a 6-1 win at Chepstow Town.
