How they rated

- BY ANDREW GWILYM

KRISTOFFER NORDFELDT

Retained after his surprise recall in the week, the Sweden international did not have loads to do but still ended up picking the ball out of the net three times. Kept calm to start the move for Celina’s equaliser.

KYLE NAUGHTON

Made the misjudgement that led to the opener, it was his only slip of the afternoon and he linked well with Roberts ahead of him again although not as prominent as in some recent games.

MIKE VAN DER HOORN

Has been excellent this season but had a tougher time of it here. Completely switched off for the second goal and found Sears a tough character to deal with.

JOE RODON

Kept his head amid the maelstrom late on when he was the only centre-half on the field. Smacked the bar with a header on an afternoon showcasing what maturity he has for one so young.

MATT GRIMES

He and James dovetailed really well throughout, mixing up their movement and causing all manner of problems. Faded a little after the break as tweaked formations meant he had to be more defensive minded.

TOM CARROLL

Always kept Swansea ticking in possession and will feel he could have done with a little more help at times. Continued his good recent form after shaking off a groin problem.

CONNOR ROBERTS

Whole-hearted as ever and got into some good areas both when playing as a winger and a full-back, producing several threatening deliveries and tracking back well when Swansea were stretched during those chaotic final 20 minutes. Will be frustrated he took one touch too many right at the death.

BERSANT CELINA

Took his goal well after threatening to produce a moment like that on more than a few occasions. Still wasteful on occasions but he was a constant nuisance to the opposition.

GEORGE BYERS

Had a quiet start with Carroll doing a lot of the fetching and carrying in the middle. Got better as the game went on but was not a major surprise to see him withdrawn for Fer.

OLI MCBURNIE

Must be starting to wonder where his next goal is coming from. On three separate occasions he looked set to find the net from a James’ cross, only to not quite get the final touch. But did so much good in link play.

STARMAN: DANIEL JAMES

Swansea’s best player. Set the tone by forcing a save inside 13 seconds and Ipswich could not handle his pace. Could easily have laid on a hat-trick for McBurnie. If anything, Swansea could have made more of his threat.
