Wales On Sunday

How they rated

- BY IAN MITCHELMORE

ERWIN MULDER

Had very little to do in the opening half as Swansea controlled possession. Claimed the routine crosses and set-pieces that came his way. Fine stops to deny Jed Wallace and Mahlon Romeo after the restart.

8

CONNOR ROBERTS

Was able to operate very high up the pitch as the home side dominated the ball. Linked up well with Daniel James on the right and was solid at the back too.

7

MIKE VAN DER HOORN

Had a golden chance to head home just before the hour mark. Slick operator at the heart of the defence once again as Millwall struggled to cause Swansea any real problems.

7

CAMERON CARTER-VICKERS

Largely untroubled in defence and swept things up effectively whenever Millwall did look to cause any issues.

7

DECLAN JOHN

A very impressive showing from the Wales international who offered an outlet on the left and was a real threat in attack. Put in plenty of teasing crosses too. Replaced on the hour mark due to injury.

7

MATT GRIMES

Grimes saw plenty of the ball in the centre park and was key as Swansea looked to switch play. Very composed yet again, and is proving to be a real key player in the centre of the park.

8

WAYNE ROUTLEDGE

A few sloppy moments aside – which can be forgiven following his recent absence due to injury – Routledge was involved in several moments of neat link-up play with his team mates as Swansea looked to get in behind Neil Harris’ side.

7

BERSANT CELINA

Back in the No.10 role, the Kosovan didn’t have the liveliest of games in the first 45, but was hugely influential in the second half. Wasted a great opening to make it 2-0 on the hour mark and had an effort cleared off the line late on.

7

DANIEL JAMES

Some very lively moments from the Welshman who used his pace to burst up the pitch on numerous occasions. Looked dangerous in the second half and did plenty of defensive work too as Millwall threatened more after the break.

8

COURTNEY BAKER-RICHARDSON

Chased lost causes and put in a real shift as the Swans had to be patient due to Millwall’s organisation at the back. There was little in the way of end product, but it was a tireless effort from the forward. Replaced.

7

STAR MAN: GEORGE BYERS

Playing in a deeper role from his showing at Bristol City last time out, Byers was a real threat arriving into the box late on, and after failing with a couple of earlier attempts, the 22-year-old netted his first senior goal for the club just before the break. Can be hugely pleased with his efforts.
