SWANSEA V BRENTFORD.... ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

-

Swansea City switch their focus to the FA Cup today as they take on Brentford in the fifth round of this season’s competition.

Here’s everything you need to know about the game at the Liberty Stadium. WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF? The match in South Wales gets underway at 4pm this afternoon. IS IT ON TV? WHAT IS THE LATEST TEAM NEWS? The Swans will make a late call on whether or not Oli McBurnie is available to play from the outset.

The Scot has been battling with an illness for several weeks but is likely to feature in some shape or form against the Bees.

But Swansea will not be able to call upon the services of winger Wayne Routledge or left-back Declan John who have been ruled out of the game due to calf and ankle problems respectively.

Nathan Dyer is a doubt for the game having suffered a slight hamstring problem while Leroy Fer, Joe Rodon and Martin Olsson remain unavailable.

Brentford will assess Rico Henry, who has been sidelined with a foot injury.

Fellow defender Henrik Dalsgaard is hoping to play, despite breaking a bone in his hand in training last Monday. WHAT HAVE THE MANAGERS SAID? Graham Potter (Swansea) “At the stage we are at, we want to go into any game we have and believe we can win and go forward from there.

“But I am a million miles away from thinking about Wembley. I have far too much respect for Brentford and what they do to think about anything other than how we can beat them.

“We want to get through to that next round, but you cannot do that by thinking about what it might mean to the club or what you might get in the next round.” Thomas Frank (Brentford) “Yes, [our target is the] FA Cup final.

“‘Oh it’ll be nice to go to the semi final’ - no, why not go for the dream? We know it will be one game at a time and after the game on Sunday we can hopefully dream even bigger

“We have key players coming back and the shift in formation, it’s the same style of play, we want to dominate and press high, but the system is just a bit different so the opponent needs to have another view on us.” WHAT ARE THE LATEST ODDS? (Odds courtesy of Sky Bet, correct at time of publishing) Match betting - does not include extra time and/or penalties Swansea City win 13/8; Draw 12/5; Brentford win 13/8 TO PROGRESS TO NEXT ROUND Swansea City 5/6 Brentford 5/6 WHO IS THE REFEREE? The Warwickshire official has not overseen a Swansea game this term, although he was the man in the middle when the Swans beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 in a fifth round replay in the competition last year.
