Poignant tribute to farm worker killed in collision

-

A BOUQUET has been placed at the spot where a young farm worker tragically lost his life in a traffic collision on Anglesey earlier this week.

The bouquet of white, purple and red flowers marks the spot on an unclassified road, between Amlwch and his home in Rhosgoch, where 22-year-old Jamie Thomas Stubbs died.

Police and ambulance services were called at around 10.15pm on Wednesday after farm labourer Mr Stubbs was hit by a blue-coloured Ford Fiesta. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The simple bouquet bore the message: “Jamie. Will always be in our hearts. Love you. Mum, Dad, David.”

Earlier this week his family had given a short tribute via the police. It said: “Jamie was very much loved by his mum, dad, brother and sister and will be sadly missed.”

Jamie’s friends flooded social media with tributes following the news of his death.

One described him an a “popular, polite and hard working individual”.

He added: “Jamie was always happy to lend a helping hand to anyone. His death is a big loss to Amlwch and the wider area.”

Former schoolmate Jade Kibblewhite said: “Jamie was a great guy, he was a good laugh and was always kind and caring. He was a great friend and easy to get on with. My life without Jamie won’t be the same.”

North Wales Police continue to appeal for witnesses to the incident. Sergeant Raymond Williams said: “Our thoughts remain with Jamie’s family at this difficult time.

“We are continuing to appeal to anybody who may have been travelling in the vicinity and who may have seen a pedestrian to contact us. We are also interested to hear from anybody who had been driving in the area just prior to the collision and who may have dash cam footage that could assist with our investigation.”
