JD CYMRU SOUTH

-

IT’S as you were at the top of JD Cymru South after the top three all crashed.

Leaders Swansea University slipped to a surprise 3-2 home defeat by second from bottom Cwmamman United.

Luke Williams, Ryan Thomas and an Elliot Jones own goal bagged the spoils for Cwmamman who had lost 10 of their 12 previous league games and this result will be a boost as they bid to climb out of the drop zone.

The students had twice been in front through Nathan Townsend and Ian Wilson and they still lead the way on goal difference from Llanelli Town, who were thumped 5-1 by Afan Lido.

Llanelli led at the break through James Loveridge but Lido ran riot in the second half through Brad Flay, Kaid Mohamed, Noah Daley, Sacha Walters and Patrick Finneral.

Meanwhile, Haverfordwest County remain a point behind those two sides after going down 4-1 at home against Briton Ferry Llansawel.

Joe Hunt, Cam Harris, a Mile Bradley own goal and Steve Davey were all on the scoresheet for Briton Ferry while Ben Fawcett’s goal was scant consolation for the Bluebirds.

Ammanford are up into fourth and now level on points with Haverfordwest after brushing aside Llantwit Major 4-1.

Craig Frater’s first half opener from the penalty spot for Ammanford was cancelled out by Harry Davies, but goals from Rhys Fisher, Matthew Fisher and Frater again ensured it was the hosts who ended victorious.

The other game in the division between Cambrian & Clydach and Goytre United ended in a 1-1 draw.

Josh Jones put the visitors ahead on 31 minutes only for Sam Jones to level for Cambrian eight minutes after the re-start.

In Nathaniel Cars Welsh League Division One, unbeaten Trefelin BGC moved to within a point of also undefeated leaders Risca United thanks to a 3-2 win at Ton Pentre. It was secured by two goals from Damon Thomas and one from Ryan Griffiths.
