PRESTATYN Town remain on course for a return to the top flight of Welsh football after a 1-0 win over Conwy Borough maintained their ninepoint advantage in JD Cymru North.

Danny Davies grabbed the only goal of the game on 66 minutes at Bastion Gardens for the league leaders to secure them an 18th win from 21 games.

Nearest challengers Flint Town United returned to winning ways after dropping points at lowly Porthmadog last week with a 1-0 home win over Bangor City. Dominic McHugh’s first half effort proved to be the difference.

Down towards the bottom, a late Jordan Murphy equaliser earned Llangefni Town a valuable 1-1 draw at home against Porthmadog.

Murphy levelled eight minutes from time after an error from keeper Paul Pritchard to cancel out Josh Davies’ opener for the visitors from the penalty spot six minutes before the break.

Basement boys Llanfair United’s search for a first league win of the season continues after going down 3-0 at home against Gresford in their latest outing.

Jake Eyre, Dan Holland and Jordan McCarter grabbed the Gresford goals.

Meanwhile efforts from Jonathan

Evans, Steff Davies and Guto Huws steered Penrhyncoch to a 3-1 triumph at second from bottom Corwen – for whom Elian Edwards replied.

Josh Jones sent Buckley Town to a 1-0 win at Llandudno while Rhyl also enjoyed a win on the road as they returned from Ruthin Town with all three points following a 2-1 victory.

Danny Sullivan and Mason Blackwell-Jones were on target for Rhyl.

The game between Llanrhaeadr and Colwyn Bay was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
