Youngster Neco joins the Welsh medal winners

-

NECO Williams yesterday guaranteed he will become only the fifth Welshman in history to win a Premier League winners’ medal.

The supremely-talented youngster played from the start in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Burnley and, in doing so, turned out for his fifth top-flight appearance of the season.

Since the 2012/13 season, players who have played five or more games are eligible to receive a Premier League winners’ medal, meaning Williams, at the age of just 19, will be awarded a gong during the Reds’ title parade.

And he joins Manchester United greats Ryan Giggs and Mark Hughes, their Old Trafford colleague Clayton Blackmore as well former Leicester City midfielder Andy King as only the fifth Welshman to achieve the feat.
