VIRGIN ATLANTIC RESTARTS

MORE routes will be added by Virgin Atlantic this month as it restarts its flying programme after the pandemic lockdown.

The carrier is also boosting its food and drink service with meals enclosed and controlled from preparation in a Covid-safe monitored environment through to being served to passengers.

Currently flying from Heathrow to New York JFK, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Barbados and Miami, Virgin will add Delhi, Tel Aviv, Atlanta, Mumbai and Lagos in September with more services to follow from October.

Passengers in Economy and Premium Economy will get a hot meal, plus dessert pot and cheese and biscuits, in a ‘Fly safe, eat well’ meal box, with day flights from the UK featuring the Mile High Tea from celebrity pâtissier Eric Lanlard.

A spokesman said: “Whilst our services may temporarily be a little different and our crew will be wearing masks, they will be smiling behind them.’’

Virgin is also launching flights to Pakistan in December, heading from Heathrow to Lahore, and Heathrow and Manchester to Islamabad. Tickets go on sale later this month.
