Family Fortunes contestant has a risque quip

-

A CHEEKY Family Fortunes contestant got into hot water with his girlfriend’s parents after giving a risque answer on the quiz show.

Stephen Lewis, from Merthyr Tydfil, was appearing on the hit ITV show which has recently returned to screens with celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo now presenting.

In the latest episode, airing tonight, Stephen is involved in a head to head round with an opposing contestant when they were asked by Gino to “name something you turn on every day”.

Without missing a beat, Stephen pushes the buzzer and says “my girlfriend”, a response that drew laughter and applause from the audience.

Unfortunately for Stephen, the answer was not up on the board, so he did not secure any points for his team.

Following the answer, Gino quipped “lucky her” before Stephen responded “sorry to Beca’s parents”. Let’s hope Beca and her parents see the funny side!

It’s not the first time a member of the Lewis family has become well-known for their comedy gold. Stephen’s mum Melanie Lewis, who also appeared on the show, went viral after posting videos of her mum and dad during lockdown.

In a two-minute clip, which has been liked and shared more than 10,000 times, NHS clerical worker Melanie pops round to her elderly parents’ house in Pen-y-Darren to post the daily newspaper and drop off a few groceries as they’re both stuck indoors self-isolating.

Melanie having backed off, Frances then steps out to collect her delivery with a scarf wrapped around her face.

“I’ve been out the back talking to the cowing birds,” says the 74-year-old.

“Why don’t you talk to Dad?” asks Melanie.

“Oh, I can’t talk to him all day, he’s driving me nuts,” she says.

Watch the all new Family Fortunes hosted by Gino D’Acampo on Sundays at 8pm on ITV.
