Wales On Sunday

How they rated

- BY GLEN WILLIAMS

DILLON PHILLIPS

A few shaky moments. Wasn’t great with his feet and made a hash of one punched clearance, but produced a tremendous save to deny Angus MacDonald.

MARLON PACK

Didn’t really put a foot wrong at centre-back but moved into midfield in the first half and looked better. Slotted his chance brilliantly late on.

ADEN FLINT (CAPT)

Threw his body in front of a few dangerous efforts. Scrambled well enough, but not as commanding a performance as we have been accustomed to.

CURTIS NELSON

Solid enough. No frills, as ever, but a decent enough outing from the centre-back.

PERRY NG

Was noticeably more advanced and looked a real handful in the second half. Fashioned one lovely chance in the second half which skirted just wide.

LEANDRO BACUNA

Not as much drive or running with the ball in the first half, passing the ball backwards quite often. Far more endeavour about him after the break.

JOE RALLS

Struggle to remember anything of note he contributed in the first half, but a far better showing in the second at wing back.

CIARON BROWN

A little bit flappy at times, but caused no real damage. Moved to centre-back after 30 minutes and improved.

RUBIN COLWILL

Tried his utmost, made willing runs and looked lively. But the ball just didn’t fall for him. Another decent outing under his belt, though. Hooked at half-time.

HARRY WILSON

Same as the above, really. It wasn’t for the want of trying or effort, but things just didn’t happen for him.

KIEFFER MOORE

Showed some nice touches with the ball at his feet, but came up against stiff opposition in the form of the abrasive Rotherham defenders.

STAR MAN SOL BAMBA

No other option for star man. Absolutely incredible to see him back on the pitch as a late, late substitute for Murphy.

SUBSTITUTES

Mark Harris (on for Colwill 45) 6 - Did well running the channels and getting himself into decent positions, just couldn’t fashion a decent chance for himself. Jonny Williams (on for Bacuna 59) 4 - Made little to no impact after coming on. Will have to have a bigger say in the absence of Harry Wilson next year.

Josh Murphy (on for Moore 59) 4 - Made wrong decision after wrong decision, had Mick McCarthy pulling his hair out on the sideline.

Not used: Smithies, Bowen, Evans, Tomlin.

ROTHERHAM UNITED

Blackman; Ihiekwe (Ladapo 90), A. MacDonald, Wood, Harding; Jozefzoon (Lindsay 62), Wiles (Mattock 87), Wing (Ogbene 90), Giles; Crooks, Smith. Not used: Johansson, Olosunde, S. MacDonald, Barlaser, Sadlier.
