HOTEL OF THE WEEK

- BY ELAINE McCAHILL

RESIDENT HOTEL

Soho, London WHERE AND WHY:

Situated right in the heart of Soho, there is no better spot for exploring all the best restaurants, bars and attractions that central London has to offer.

Attractions such as the London Eye and Madame Tussauds – with discounted tickets for resident guests – are a leisurely half-hour walk away.

The hotel is very slick and modern with a luxe communal lounge and immaculate rooms. Despite being in the centre of town, there was no noise.

COVID CHECK IN

We felt extremely safe with staff wearing masks and screens at reception. Each room is sanitised between guests, who wear masks when outside their rooms, while staff keep them on at all times. There’s hand sanitiser in reception and before entering all the lifts.

ON THE MENU

Each guestroom has a minikitchen if you don’t feel like venturing out. So while the hotel itself doesn’t have a bar or restaurant, each room has its own microwave, kettle and fridge. The hotel even offers a grocery package option for delivery prior to arriving.

But if you’re keen to enjoy the bustling streets of Soho, the nearby Scarlett Green is just around the corner, which has a great vibe with live DJs and Porn Star Martinis.

Their Spicy Tuna Tostada (£10) is particularly good as is their famous Melbourne Mars Bar Cheesecake Ball for dessert (£8.60).
