BEN HAMER

Making his first league start for the Swans, Hamer didn’t have a save to make until he denied Ryan Longman in the final minute. A clean sheet for the goalkeeper.

KYLE NAUGHTON

Started in a deep role but quickly found himself playing high up the pitch. Fine strike in the first half and ticked things over nicely. Subbed due to injury.

RYAN BENNETT

Barely tested defensively and got further up the pitch as a result. Played his part in the clean sheet with a number of defensive headers.

RHYS WILLIAMS

On his Swansea debut, the Liverpool loanee had plenty of time in possession and was physical enough when needed to be. Solid debut given his lack of action before joining the club.

ETHAN LAIRD

Caused so many problems high up the right wing in the first half. Wasn’t as effective in the final third in the second half but still looked dangerous.

MATT GRIMES

Downes’ inclusion allowed the captain to play higher up the pitch, and Grimes very nearly netted the opener from a well-taken free-kick. He dropped deeper in a bid to get Swansea up the pitch, but his efforts went without reward.

JAKE BIDWELL

Got so high up the left flank and had a shot blocked in the first half. A few frustrating moments and was subbed in the second half.

OLIVIER NTCHAM

Making his Swansea debut, the Frenchman oozed confidence in possession and linked up nicely with the likes of Laird and Joel Piroe. Subbed in the second half after an encouraging showing.

JAMIE PATERSON

A few neat flashes aside, it was a fairly quiet showing from the summer signing.

JOEL PIROE

Didn’t see much of the ball early on but grew into the game as Hull dropped deeper. Twice tested Matt Ingram but couldn’t extend his impressive goal-scoring run.
