1 Choose the right subject

Look for bold, simple subjects with strong shapes and lines. Simpler, less-busy graphic compositions will work much better in harsh light with strong shadows than scenes that rely on a lot of detail. Bold colours can also add impact, especially reds, oranges and yellows, which can contrast effectively with a deep-blue sky.
