Trash talk
Reading Lyn Hughes’ article “Let’s talk about litter” [Issue 208] reminded me of an incident in Bangladesh in January. I was on a small group tour that included a visit to the Sundarbans. On a walk to the mangroves bordering the Bay of Bengal we came across an overflowing litter bin surrounded by empty plastic bottles. Our guides readily joined in our clear-up efforts and carried the rubbish back to our boat. Although what we did was only a drop in the ocean, I hope that the message may have spread a little.

Brilliant... an excellent role model for us all in Lyn Hughes’ article. Let’s hope we can develop a culture that sees folk feel bad about their behaviour as litter louts.
No sane person surely wants to foul their own nest?
