Simply Play

at Kirknewton provides award winning afterschool childcare in Kirknewton. They are based in Kirknewton Primary school and collect children from the school. For vacancies and further information please call the club manager Hazel on 07871 791000.

Kirknewton Youth Club

is a weekly group for S1-S6 young people. The group is supported by a team of local volunteers and the Kirknewton Community Development Trust Youth and Volunteer Coordinator who provide fun and engaging activities for the young people of the village. So far the group has done a card trick workshop, cookery sessions and pizza night! Encourage your child along each Friday evening from 6-8pm, £1 in the Green Room

Drop in

to The Green Room each weekday morning for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat between 9-1pm. The session is supported by a local volunteer. Lap tops are available for use, Ipad mini’s as well as KOBO readers. Our eco-friendly building is cosy and warm so feel free to pop in and find out what is happening in the local community.

Playgroup

is held in the Village Hall on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9-11.15am during term time, cost £5 per child. We are a happy, friendly and safe drop off playgroup for children aged 2-4 and a half.

A-Star Sports

is a fun-filled multisports experience for children aged 2-10 years. We offer inclusive, developmental multi-sports coaching in a positive environment that begins with an initial ABC-based programme and develoP into ten core sports. Kirknewton classes run on a Wednesday afternoon 3.30 (preschool) & 4.30 P1 - P3’s. Your child will receive Certificates of Achievement at each level as a reward for enthusiasm, motivation and effective contribution. Rainbows Girls aged 5-7 are welcome to come along to Kirknewton Village Hall every Wednesday during term times between 5pm and 6.15pm. We have lots of fun doing different crafts, playing all sorts of games, learning new things, working towards special Girl Guiding badges and there is always lots of laughing going on. Kosy Cafe is open on Friday afternoons in the Village hall during school term time from 4-5pm. All primary schoolchildren are welcome to this café environment serving home baking & hot .

Kirknewton Walkers

meet every Wednesday at 7pm. outside the Park entrance for a one and a half to two hours walk. For all abilities. Walking from Kirknewton to wherever the mood take us.
