-

Hibernian Ladies closed the gap at the top of the Scottish Women’s Premier League 1 table after they took full advantage of Glasgow City’s first defeat of the season.

City lost 3-0 at home to Spartans, but Hibs, who play their home games at Broxburn’s Albyn Park, won by a similar scoreline away to Stirling Uni.

Emma Brownlie, Sarah Ewens and Lizzie Arnot grabbed the goals for Hibs, with the win seeing them close the gap on the league leaders to just five points with a game in hand.

That came just four days after Hibernian defeated Scott Booth’s side 2-1 to lift the SWPL Cup.
