A new project has been created and is aimed at pregnant women and families with young children to assist with the diverse and changing circumstan­ces of parenthood. If you are pregnant or have children under 8 then the bureau can be contacted on 01506 444814 Pinky’s Percy’s meet in the Craiginn Centre on alternate Saturdays from 11.30 am until 12.15 pm.

Access2emp­loyment is a free Employabil­ity Service run by West Lothian Council supporting local people into Employment, Training or Education. Experience­d advisers are located in the Craiginn Centre on Tuesday’s from 2- 4.30 p.m. and Fridays from 1.30 p.m. Till 3.30 pm. You can also book an appointmen­t free on 0800 032 9768. Church Coffee Mornings are held on the last Thursday of the month from 10 am in the Church. Teas, coffees and home baking are on offer. Now in summer recess. Church Ladies Group meet in the Church on the first Tuesday of each month at 2pm. Please note the change of day and time and is now in summer recess.

Bookbug Session coming soon to Blackridge Library Thursday 16 th June from. 2pm-3pm. Come along with your babies and toddlers for some Bookbug fun. Also coming soon to the Library. Craft sessions and story time for 3 years and upwards.

Outing Last Saturday two coach loads of senior citizens left the village for their annual outing. A short stop at Moffat for a quick cuppa or a browse round the woollen mill before heading to Dumfries. There they enjoyed lunch at the Nith Hotel. The coaches then took everyone into Dumfries for the afternoon then back to the hotel for high tea. The weather was kind, (dry and warm). Returning back to Blackridge at around 9pm. tired but happy with the kindness shown by the committee and the coach drivers.

Gala Young Jamie Duncan will lead the parade at this years Gala Day on Sunday June 26.
