-

The council has a number of volunteer IT Buddies who help the public to get online and use IT. They can help you get online, access the internet or use devices such as smartphones, and tablets. It’s available at Business Gateway, Broxburn, by calling 01506 283400 for an appointment. West Lothian Council is reminding residents that they can save on their baggage allowance by stocking up on free holiday reading from West Lothian libraries on their mobile devices.

It is possible to download ebooks, etalking books and popular emagazines and it is all free. There is a range of emagazines available on topics like homes, photography, cars, food, science, celebrity, women’s interest, computers, cycling, hobbies, health and fitness and more.

Executive councillor for culture and leisure Dave King said:“If you haven’t thought about your local library for a long time you could be missing out. Now you can access your local library from home and download content direct to your mobile device and it is free. If you are going on holiday you could save the weight of carrying books to read and the cost of magazines at the airport by downloading them for free from West Lothian libraries amazing range of e-resources. West Lothian libraries are very welcoming and I would encourage anyone who hasn’t visited on recently to pop in and see what is on offer.”
