This could be a special year for our club

-

It’s been a quick break hasn’t it ? It feels like yesterday that we were all smarting from defeat to Stranraer and relegation to League One.

But here we are. Pre-season is upon us and the club are preparing for our opening games in the new-look League Cup and, more importantly, our first league game against Stranraer.

Expectations will be high and with that comes pressure that the players will need to thrive under .

Signs are good. We’ve got nearly a brand new team, with a number of players coming to us from League One rivals Airdrieonians, the pick of them so far looking to be Nicky Cadden.

The youngster looks to be a nippy winger, something we’ve been lacking for some time.

Although we suffered a heavy defeat in our first game against Dunfermline, there were good things to take from it, along with some concerns, which isn’t a major surprise with a new team. A much improved performance against Morton followed and again there where good signs and bad.

I’m sure Dave Hopkin will be trying to iron out these issues now before the real football starts.

There is no doubt we have signed well this season. We have depth in the squad and with another striker added I’m sure we will be up there challenging for promotion.

It’s down to us as fans now to get behind this new-look Livi team. This might just be a special year.
