Lana third after giving Brig a Bash

Lothian Running Club members were out and about competing on all terrains – including hills, roads and track – over the past week.

John Malcolm was the club’s sole representa­tive in the Dollar Hill Race covering the 15km course, which has a climb of 960m, in 1:34.38, to place him 12th overall.

Several runners from the Lothian club were at the Brig Bash Five Miles race and Crieff 10km.

At th first event, Lana Turnbull was the first LRC runner home, in 29th place overall and third in the female category, while Gerry McCafferty was the first club male finisher in 39th.

He was also the first LRC member to cross the line in Crieff, where the club had 11 runners tackling the course.

Elsewhere, Sarah Inglis contested the British Milers Club mixed 1500m race at Chester-leStreet, finishing seventh and first female in 4:21.10.
