Fans get first sight of new signings

Friendlies see Juniors back in action

Several Junior sides kick off their pre-season friendlies this week.

With the league campaign getting underway on August 6, clubs will begin to kick their preparatio­ns up a notch, with numerous friendlies scheduled.

One game has already taken place, with Pumphersto­n defeating South Division rivals Livingston United 5-2.

West Lothian’s three Superleagu­e sides all begin their pre-season friendly schedule this week, with Linlithgow Rose kicking their year off away to Dalkeith Thistle on Tuesday evening.

Stephen Findlay’s first game in charge of Fauldhouse United takes place on Saturday away at Largs Thistle.

Broxburn Athletic visit a Stirling University side managed by Broxburnbo­rn Shelley Kerr. They follow that up with a home game on Wednesday night against North Division outfit Oakley United.

Newly promoted Whitburn welcome Blantyre Victoria to Central Park on Saturday afternoon, while James McAllister takes charge of Armadale Thistle for the first time on the same day as the Jags visit Kilsyth Rangers. They play Armadale Rose Amateurs at Volunteer Park on Wednesday.

Premier League rivals Bathgate Thistle play their own amateur side on Tuesday.

Blackburn United, who will be hoping this is finally the year they climb out of the South Division, host Larkhall Thistle on Saturday and Royal Albert on Wednesday.

West Calder United also have two games this week. They visit Camelon at the weekend before welcoming Heriot Watt University to Hermand Park on Wednesday evening as the new season inches closer.
