Final week of season

-

West Lothian’s five cricket teams are gearing up for the final games of the 2016 season this weekend.

The weather got the better of the entire fixture list last week, including the Division Two derby clash between Livingston First XI and Fauldhouse Victoria.

Linlithgow end their Division One campaign with a tough clash away at Musselburgh, needing a win if they are to avoid finishing in the bottom three.

They also need Edinburgh Accies to suffer defeat away to Freuchie.

Livingston’s top team and Fauldhouse have little to play for in Division Two.

Vics have enjoyed a great season and they will be desperate to finish it on a high. They will be looking to grab a fourth place finish with a home win against Falkland Second XI.

Livingston, whose inconsistency put paid to any hopes of promotion, are away to basement boys Westquarter and Redding, who have grabbed a solitary win this year.

Much like their top team, Linlithgow Second XI have been involved in a relegation battle for much of the campaign.

They need to grab an unlikely win at home to promotion-chasing Carlton Third XI, combined with MDAFS losing away to Glenrothes in Division Three.

Livingston’s Second XI end their Division Six season at home to Dunbar, looking to finish eighth.
