Pipers red-hot at festival

- Marjorie Kerr

Music fans from across West Lothian enjoyed a weekend of entertainment at the annual Bathgate Music Festival.

On Saturday, The Steelyard was the place to be for a day of live music including a set from The Rollin’ Drones (pictured). Shoppers were treated to a day of entertainment until early evening.

But the fun continued the following day at the special Party in the Park event. Hundreds of families turned out to enjoy the music, fun and games at Kirkton Park.

Hundreds of people flocked to Bathgate over the weekend to enjoy the town’s annual music festival.

Events got underway on Thursday with the Live at Lunch show at the Regal Theatre which saw performers take to the stage and entertain audiences during their lunch break.

And Live and Local events saw musicians perform in venues around the town.

But the main attractions were staged on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, events took place in The Steelyard from 11.30am until 5pm with musicians performing for shoppers and music fans.

And on Saturday, Kirkton Park was the venue for Party at the Park where an acoustic stage and a main stage provided a platform for musicians from across West Lothian and beyond to the revellers.

And although the rain fell on the crowds for some of the weekend, it did nothing to dampen their spirits.
