Abseil off iconic Clyde landmark for charity

-

Barnardo’s Scotland is challenging West Lothian people to ‘scale new heights’ for vulnerable children in 2016 by taking on a 150ft abseil challenge to mark Barnardo’s 150th Anniversary.

The challenge is to abseil off Glasgow’s Titan Crane, which helped the world famous John Brown’s Shipyards at Clydebank build some of the biggest ships and liners in the world.

Events co-ordinator for Barnardo’s Scotland, Jordyn Armstrong said: “This event is not for the faint hearted.

“This is a unique opportunity to abseil off one of Glasgow’s most iconic landmarks, all for a great cause. So push yourself and help Barnardo’s Scotland support vulnerable children young people and families. We are asking those who take on the challenge to raise £150 for this worthy cause to help mark our 150th anniversary.

“It is a really fun and exciting way to spend a day and raise some money for the charity.

“The proceeds from this challenge will help us continue to provide the support and help that we have been providing for 150 years.

“Registration is £30 so sign up and show that you believe in children by taking part.”
