Tribute show celebrates music of Big O

‘The Roy Orbison Story – Barry Steele and Friends’is sure to delight fans of the Big O when the show arrives in Livingston next week.

This celebratio­n of Roy Orbison’s musical legacy at Howden Park Centre will be unmissable for those who enjoy his music.

Barry Steele takes you on a musical journey in time, from the early Sun Records years right through to the late 80s and the internatio­nally acclaimed‘A Black and White Night’concert, as well as Roy’s time spent with the Traveling Wilburys. A fabulous line-up of musicians and singers will join Barry in this special show that not only honours Orbison, but also the legendary stars that performed with him. The show will take place on Saturday, September 17, at 7.30pm with tickets priced £20.50 or £18.50 concession.

Also at Howden Park Centre next week is the Scottish premiere of Michael Frayn’s award winning play‘Democracy’. The production by Rapture Theatre is brought to Livingston in associatio­n with Macrobert Art Centre.

It combines the precision and fascinatio­n of a John Le Carre thriller with the energy and dynamism of‘The West Wing’. It’s 1969 in West Germany and charismati­c Willy Brandt has been elected Chancellor. When Brandt“dares more democracy”, his own party conspires, plots and tries to destroy him. The play will be staged on Thursday, September 15. Tickets priced £12.50, £10.50 concession or £6 for West Lothian schools are available from the box office.
