team Jak Foundation is all set to hold a special fundraiser on saturday.

From 10am to 4pm shoppers at the Centre, Livingston, can get their picture taken in a racing stock car for a £1 donation and take part in a Wheelie gold Raffle to be in with a chance of winning 10 driving lessons.

the fundraiser marks the 17th birthday of car fanatic Jak trueman, who passed away 18 months ago after a battle with gamma Delta t-Cell Lymphoma.

the racing stock car, donated to the charity for the day by peter Easton, will be parked outside H&M.

Jak’s mum allison and her team are hoping to raise around £1000 on the day to support children with cancer and related illnesses and their families at Jak’s Den in Livingston Village.

allison said: “Our car theme was not only in keeping with Jak’s love of cars but also as he would have been starting to learn to drive this month. It felt like a great link to bring in a stock car which people could have their picture taken next to and also take part in our raffle too to win some great prizes, including the driving lessons.”

Other events taking place during september, Jak’s birthday month, which is also Childhood Cancer awareness Month, includes a bowlathon at Deer park in Livingston on sunday (september 18), from 6.30pm, £10 per ticket.

Jennifer Bruce, marking manager at the Centre said: “We are looking forward to having team Jak Foundation in the mall this weekend with their stock car and raffle prizes to help raise awareness about the charity.”
