Theatre to hold showcase event

Bathgate’s regal theatre is launching an exciting new animation department this weekend.

the team at the theatre has been tasked with creating an original animated series with help from Flyboy original production company in Dundee and actor scott Kyle, who works at the regal.

and a special launch event is being held this sunday (september 25) showcasing some of the best animated films along with movies featuring visual effects from scotland.

there will also be more informatio­n on the regal’s own production and the animation department.

regal artistic director scott Kyle - who has appeared in angels’ share, Kajaki and outlander - offered to collaborat­e with Dundee filmmaker Fraser Murdoch after hearing about his project‘Bab: the Man Who took too Much’.

Fraser explained:“as artistic director at the Bathgate regal - a community theatre with a varied programme - scott offered to help me.

“offering his support and the facilities at the regal will help raise funds for the first instalment of the film as well as raise awareness of animation and visual effects.”

and scott added:“I met Fraser Murdoch on the set of american tV show outlander and they only work with the very best in the industry so we are delighted to have Fraser on board with regal animation.”

the showcase event at the Bathgate regal on september 25 at 1pm will give people a chance to see some of Fraser’s other animated work - including‘My City’ starring Brian Cox - as well as the current film’s progress.
